Happy Fall! It’s my favorite time of year and I try to relish every moment. The leaves turn so quickly and before you know it we are cast back into the dark of winter. So, this year I am really going to make an effort to soak up all the sun I can and watch those leaves.

Over the next month I have a lot of exciting events planned. First and foremost, I am teaching a workshop at East West Bookshop in Seattle on Sunday, Oct. 5th. It is called “Everyday Tarot: Creating a Daily Practice to Enhance Your Life.” I love keeping a journal of all my readings so that I can chart my patterns and progress over time. I find that it really helps to keep me on track in dealing with everyday problems as well as lifetime issues. I’m excited to connect with new folks and get a chance to teach what I love.

Also, I’m doing readings at East West on Tues., Oct 7th and Sat., Oct. 11th. I’m really looking forward to being there. The energy in the Seattle store is so calming and beautiful and every time I’m in there I kinda lose track of time. Just want to drift and look at all the pretty things…hmmm. Read More →

O.K. so summer finally showed up. Better late than never. I’ve stowed away the winter clothes and rediscovered all the vestiges of summer. Flip-flops, shorts, sunscreen etc. And it feels nice to step out into the warm breeze without the need for another layer.

In the last post I talked about reading “78 degrees of Wisdom” and appreciating all the history and varied meanings of the cards. After cogitating a great deal about all this new information, I decided I actually needed to put all my books aside and step outside of my brain for a while. My readings were starting to feel strained and forced with the focus on what I should remember. Rather than letting the intuitive part do it’s thing. So, happily I have left all the historical context and arcane revelations behind and embraced the one thing I so love about tarot -the wide open sense of divine connection. I find my strength as a reader is centered on the ability to get out of the way of my critical mind. Get out of the way and let the beautiful stream of consciousness come in. And now everything feels completely at ease and more meaningful. Each reading cultivates a better understanding of how powerful the intuitive sense can be and also how much I can trust my own voice.

Well, here it is. June 6th and I’m still wearing a fleece. Crazy! I’m sure a lot of you are feeling similarly. The weatherman’s tense little smile says it all. More of the same. So, I guess it’s a good time to light the candles, tuck under a blanket and read a good book. What else is a NW gal to do?

Right now, I’m reading a great book on Tarot. “Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom” by Rachel Pollack is a must-read book on the art of Tarot that I seemed to have missed out on. This book is one of the first and best resources for interpretation and understanding the history, mythology and artistry of the deck. After reading for 20 years and developing my own personal understanding of the cards, it’s so exciting to open myself up to new interpretations. Each card becomes imbued with a new relevance and new possibilities.

After teaching a few classes, I realized the importance of keeping myself open to being the student as well as the instructor. I need to constantly refresh my own views and welcome the chance to learn. At first I was a little hesitant at having to take on all this new information. But, my partner, Nicole suggested to take in the parts that fit what I already know and let the rest go. She’s so wise. With this in mind I have begun to add some new ideas into my daily readings. It’s exciting to find new layers of meanings in the cards that I know so well. More to explore and become inspired. Hmmm….I feel sense the need to create a new fabulous workshop on the major arcana! Stay tuned and stay warm cause, you know, it’s June.

Welcome to my new tarot website! I’m so thrilled to be able to connect with friends, clients and fellow readers and healers. Over the past few months I have taught workshops on tarot basics and facilitated an ongoing tarot circle at Soulfood Books in Redmond. The response has been tremendous. People came with their tarot decks in hand eager to delve into the mysteries of the cards and ready to start reading. It’s inspiring for me to see such enthusiasm and excitement and I’m so grateful for the chance to share what I have learned over the past 20 years. Tarot is an amazing conduit for discovering universal truths as well as illuminating the darkest parts of ourselves. The journey is worth every step, every discomfort and every revelation.
